This session discusses the appraisal of Caribbean art, and will review the key components for preparing art collectors (individuals and corporate entities) for the appraisal process. The talk will review such issues as documentation (sales receipts, provenance), condition, and the relevant sources used for determining valuation. The talk will both demystify the process and showcase the complexities of the appraiser’s role as a property economist.

This session will also look at the challenges appraisers face in appraising Caribbean Art and the resources available to researchers.
